How do you access Second Stage Housing?
We accept referrals from agencies, professionals, or individuals (located here). Or it can be as simple as making a phone call to our office. We can be reached at 519- 637-2288 Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
How does the application process work?
We will speak with you and initially gather enough information to help you with immediate safety needs. We will also arrange to meet with you in order to complete an application and discuss the program that we offer. Transitional supports are available to support you with preparing to move into the program.
Are men allowed to come here?
Men are not allowed on the property unless they are approved and accompanied by staff. In order to maintain everyone’s safety we can not have men on the property.
Can my teenage son live in the program with me?
We do house teenage boys that are residing with their mom as a dependent. In order to assure the comfort and safety of all residents we assess each applicant’s situation individually.
Can I bring my pets?
We do not allow pets in the building or on the property. The reason for this guideline is so that we can continue to keep the furnished apartments in good repair for future residents.
Can I bring furniture with me?
Each apartment is furnished with the necessary furniture (eg. twin bed, dresser, table and chairs, fridge and stove, couch and chair and coffee and end tables). You would need to problem solve storage of your furnishings off site.
Can I have cable and internet hooked up?
We include WiFi to all units. If a resident chooses to have Bell or Rogers phone or cable, arrangements can be made with staff and the company.
